Kayvan Khalatbari is a community advocate and entrepreneur based in Denver, CO. He is the co-founder of more than a dozen businesses in multiple industries, which employ more than 1,000 people across the country. Notable amongst these businesses are Birdy magazine, Cresco Labs, Denver Relief, Manna Molecular Science, Standard Wellness, Sexpot Comedy, and Sexy Pizza, which has four locations and recently converted into an employee-owned company.

Kayvan has previously been a Mayoral and City Council candidate in Denver, and currently holds a number of board positions with Colorado nonprofits.He helps guide the Center for Community Wealth Building, Colorado Village Collaborative, Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Society for Psychedelic Outreach, Reform and Education. Past Director positions include those with the Harm Reduction Action Center, Minority Cannabis Business Association, National Cannabis Industry Association, and Students for Sensible Drug Policy.

He has led and/or supported numerous successful ballot initiatives in Denver, including the decriminalization of cannabis (2005), making cannabis the lowest law enforcement priority (2007), cannabis social use (2016), commercial building green roof mandates (2017), and the decriminalization of psilocybin (2019). Kayvan is a fierce advocate for a shared wealth economy, criminal justice and drug policy reform, the rights of people experiencing homelessness, and promoting access to creative and entrepreneurial opportunities for underserved populations.

He has been a mentor in the Denver Kids program for more than a decade and recently adopted two young girls, ages 9 and 13.
